The gases media don't talk about...

To probably 90% of people across the world, when asked about the leading causes of global warming, their first thoughts will be of CO2 emissions. To an extent, this is true, however to many peoples surprise, CO2 emissions are not the leading cause to the so called global warming. There are several other gases that are major greenhouse gases, which include methane, and refrigerants to name a few. Recently, a team of international researchers from MIT's Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences have discovered that Sulfuryl fluoride, a gas typically utilized in the repellant and control of insects, is 4,800 times worse than CO2. Check out PopSci's list of Top Ten Greenhouse Gases... Number 1 may surprise you.

A 30 kilometer ascent...

This photo was taken from a weather probe at an altitude of over 30,000 meters. It was built and launched by four teenage students and their professor from IES La Bisbal school in Catalonia, Spain. They equipped the probe with a foam wrapped 'snap-and-shoot' camera along with other electronics, to capture these incredible images! The probe travelled almost 40 kilometers across land, in temperatures as cold as -54C. These guys are gonna be the coolest geeks on the block!

This is how I'm feeble

Remember back in like grade 5, when you're just getting old enough to realize what was cool and what wasn't. Now, remember when you had to watch those movies in class, that looked like they were made in the '60s.... Yeah, those sucked. Imagine school now, being able to utilize the computers available as a learning tool, and being lucky enough to watch class movies like this!! Living out of a cardboard box??!

Well not really a cardboard box, just a lot of cardboard! When the employees at Nothing, an Amsterdam ad agency, say they work out of a cardboard box, most people are probably think they're making a joke about their cheap ass bosses. They're not, and the bosses aren't being cheap at all. Rather, they comissioned Alrik Koudenburg and Joost van Bleiswijk to create all of their office furniture using only cardboard. The results are pretty impressive, but they'll only grow more interesting over time, since visitors are encouraged to mark up the surfaces with anything they please, making the entire office a palimpsest!

This should be mandatory in every office! This is a sweet ass 40 ft high slide, taking staff from the third floor down to the main floor in just 7 seconds! Don't know how much work I'd get done though... I'd be trying to find as many excuses as I could to head down to the main floor. "Need a stapler? Sure, be there in 7 seconds!", or "Just wanted to say 'hello'". But, how much would it suck getting into work Monday morning, and walking into you FIRST FLOOR office!!? No fun for you!
