Is this for real??!

I hate reality TV... Actually, I hate a lot of TV unless it involves sports. Tiger Woods on a Sunday afternoon, and I'm probably not leaving my couch, but I digress... Now this clip is from ABC's "reality hit" Wife Swap. I think the premise of the show sounds ridiculous, with little opportunity for a positive outcome with switching wives for a week. That just sounds awkward... However, I stumbled across this clip, and I had to post it cause it cracked me up! This poor kid is getting fed up with the new Mom, and when she takes the junk food away... well watch and see! Hilarious.

"Naaah, I want my bacon - I gotta tell ya somethin, bacon is good for me!" Hahaha, brilliant kid.

Next one that'll be pulled off the shelf

Your colleague's husband's sister can make you fat, even if you don't know her. A happy neighbor has more impact on your happiness than a happy spouse. These startling revelations of how much we truly influence one another are revealed in the studies of Drs. Christakis and Fowler, which have repeatedly made front-page news nationwide.

In CONNECTED, the authors explain why emotions are contagious, how health behaviors spread, why the rich get richer, even how we find and choose our partners. Intriguing and entertaining, CONNECTED overturns the notion of the individual and provides a revolutionary paradigm-that social networks influence our ideas, emotions, health, relationships, behavior, politics, and much more. It will change the way we think about every aspect of our lives.
After reading the description of this book, some may say this sounds obvious - why would anyone read a full book on how we influence eachother. But to me, with my own opinions on this, I'm interested in learning other viewpoints, especially if it comes from a couple of PhD's. I love science, and utilizing it in this daily routine we call life, as well as studying how we can be influenced fascinates me. Hence, making this my next read!

Heartless covered

Personally, I think Kayne is one of the best lyricists around - def in my top five. To name a few, rhymes like those from Jesus Walks and his recent Heartless are evidence of his poetic talents. However, with Kayne's belaboring of the AutoTune on his recent album, this 'Heartless' cover by the Fray is a refreshing change. Actually, after hearing it a few times, the way it's delivered almost sounds more "right" to me... Enjoy!

What happened to writing lines in detention?!

Kinda ghetto, but impressive nonetheless. This guy makes beats on a table using his fists, elbows, and a couple of pens... the beat actually sounds pretty good, and the rap may stick in in your head for the afternoon. Check out this guy's other clip here from a Philly Youth Slam... He's performing on stage with a table now, in front of a bunch of ghetto fab brothas and sistas. It's great to see him making a name for himself, but, come on now. Listen to the chick filming it too...

Really?! Boom Shaq-a-laqa!

OK, so Shaq recently was on the WWE's Monday Night Raw, as the special guest host.... Ha, never thought I'd say Shaq and WWE in the same sentence. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not posting this cause I'm a WWE fan... I couldn't even name a handful of the wrestlers. But this clip cracked me up, partly because of Shaq's open display of his tarnished, or in the process of being tarnished, reputation. And then there's his pathetic attempt at a "clothes line" at the end.... So sad, yet so entertaining.

Scott Van Pelt... "I, I...What happened there?"

The Big Bang... An attempted explanation

Besides the overuse of the color purple, this video that includes Physicist Dr. Jana Levin, does a decent job at trying to paint a picture of how the universe was created. Still, I always tend to braincramp when I hear people say that before the Big Bang, there was "nothing". Well, what exactly does the universe expand into upon the instant of the Big Bang?? Needless to say, there are a few other cool theories explained by Janna.... The universe bouncing from a previous history into this cosmos, or multi/mega universes?! Eff'd!

Fever Ray

This is the second single from Fever Ray's debut album Fever Ray. I've listened through this album, and I really enjoy the electronic incorporation, and ritualistic vibe in their sound. Their first single, If I had a heart is different from this single... quite slower, macabre like in a way.

You bet Bob, this rain sure is a downer! Chuckle, chuckle...

Another good one from Indexed. This gets pulled on me almost every day... the elevator being a common spot.
